Development of zinc, aluminum and magnesium coatings abroad
In 1985, Japan Iron and Steel Research Center developed Zn-4.5% Al-0.1% Mg coated steel plate, the product name SuperZinc, after 10 months in the atmosphere exposure test results show that the corrosion resistance of hot galvanized magnesium alloy steel plate than ordinary hot galvanized steel corrosion resistance more than double.
In the 1990s, in order to better protect battery components, the Japanese market has very strict requirements for brackets, both to achieve high strength and high corrosion resistance, so it began to vigorously develop Zn-Al-Mg multicomponent alloy coatings. Rixin Steel Company took the lead in developing Zn-6% Al-3%Mg alloy coating, named ZAM, whose corrosion resistance of the alloy coating is about 10 times that of the pure zinc coating.
In view of the above excellent corrosion resistance, ZAM is known as the 21st century high corrosion resistance hot dip coating, ranked first in the use of similar products in Japan, covering most of the products in Japan, including the construction industry, mechanical and electrical industry, highway guardrail, automotive industry, power industry, civil daily life.
In 2000, Japan Nippon Steel Company developed Zn-al-MG-Si high corrosion resistance coated steel plate, its product name is Super Dyma, the chemical composition of its coating is Al10% ~ 12%, Mg2% ~ 4%, Si < 0.1%, the rest is Zn. The corrosion resistance of the coating is more than 5 times that of the ordinary hot-dip galvanized coating.
European Thyssen, Tata, Voesun and so on have also developed their own hot-dip galvanized aluminum magnesium patented products, different from Japan to the construction of "aluminum" hot-dip galvanized aluminum magnesium products, Europe's zinc aluminum magnesium coating composition are "low aluminum" design, to automotive steel as the main direction of attack.
In 2013, Australia Bluescue Company developed and produced a high aluminum zinc aluminum magnesium composition system, and named it "Next Generation ZINCALUME", mainly for construction steel.
Among them, the zinc, aluminum and magnesium composition systems of Nippon Steel, Nippon Steel, PoSCO, ArcelorMittal and Keri steel plates are mainly aluminum composition systems, which are mainly used for solar thermal, photovoltaic, animal husbandry and construction purposes, and have good corrosion resistance.
Thyssenkrupp, Voelstalpine, Tata Steel, Uberman and Salzgitter mainly use low aluminum composition system, which is mainly used for color coated substrates, home appliances and automobiles with high surface use. The product quality is good, and the surface quality of Thyssenkrupp products reaches O5 standard. The products cover carbon structural steel, ultra-deep drawing IF steel, high-strength low-alloy structural steel, duplex steel, phosphorus-added high-strength steel and baking hardening steel, and are widely used in Opel and other auto parts.
Bluescope is dominated by high aluminum composition systems, which are mainly used for construction purposes.
In addition, Posco has the capacity to produce zinc aluminum magnesium with thickness of 1.1 ~ 4.5mm (hot base zinc aluminum magnesium) and width of 800 ~ 1650mm, and the steel grades are CQ, DQ and structural steel for construction. Nippon Steel Dongyu Manufacturing has the ability to produce hot-base zinc, aluminum and magnesium products with thickness of 0.8 ~ 6.0mm; Uberman can produce thermal base products with thickness of 1.25 ~ 5.0mm, width of 600 ~ 1650mm, steel grade of ZM100 ~ ZM1000; Arcelormittal is capable of producing zinc, aluminum and magnesium products with thickness of 0.45 to 6.0mm.
